He has been in the limelight since his youth days, participating in the U-17 World Cup and scoring three goals. He was the captain of his team at Tsukuba University and joined his hometown club Albirex Niigata in the 2016 season.

After joining Niigata, he developed acute leukemia.

After undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, he made his first official appearance as a professional soccer player in 1,287 days in October 2019. Since then, he has continued to be a major player for Albirex Niigata, winning the J2 League championship in the 2022 season. In the same year, he was appointed vice president of the Japan Professional Soccer Players' Association.

[Hayakawa’s Unique Story

Leukemia is called “cancer of the blood” that affects more than 10,000 people a year, causing strong fatigue and anemia. Among them, Hayakawa developed “acute leukemia,” a rapidly progressing disease. He persevered through long and painful anti-cancer treatment, and finally returned to the J. League stage in October, about three and a half years later.

Since then, he has led Albirex to the J2 League champion title in 2022, and is expected to play in the J1 League from the 2023 season.

IKEUCHI ORGANIC supports the activities of DeleteC, which supports cancer treatment, and we hope to further promote these activities by teaming up with Hayakawa.
